Since its establishment in 1991 in Oakland, California, Give Something Back has become the largest independent office supplies dealer on the West Coast of the United States. The Challenge

With over 40,000 products, Give Something Back has become the ‘go to’ supplier for many thousands of businesses and the company has become known for their outstanding customer service, streamlined shopping options and humbling values. Growing at an astounding rate, the company was battling with an incumbent system that didn’t provide everything they needed to continue on their upward trend.

Having used an alternative solution, Gene Stoegbauer, Sales Operations Manager for the company, commented: “Keeping up-to-date on our day-to-day sales results was incredibly cumbersome. We had a solution for reporting and monitoring, but it wasn’t quite sophisticated enough for what we needed as a company.”

The Solution

As the team at Give Something Back began their search for a new solution, they discovered sales-i. “It gives us almost real-time tracking of customers, revenues, products and solutions. It was sophisticated enough to meet our needs and made it easier to keep an eye on the business with current, accurate data,” says Gene.

Results

Since using sales-i, the change at Give Something back has already been noticed. “Tracking both existing customers and prospects has been a huge advantage for us. We can keep on top of sales, products and results with sales-i,” Gene adds.

From a reporting point of view, the team has been equally as effusive. “It has increased the accuracy of our reporting no end,” says Gene. “We can monitor all of our sales efforts and track activity results all within a single system.”

What's next?

In the past year, sales-i has made a marked difference at Give Something Back. Looking to the future, Gene concludes, “We plan on utilizing more of sales-i’s functionality to better focus on projects with our accounts.”
