Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week.

Back in December 2017, we welcomed two local apprentices into the sales-i family from Solihull College. As a company, we are always looking for ways to support our local community and we are very lucky to have access to an outstanding pool of talent here in the Midlands.

We are delighted to be able to support two local students with real world experience to supplement their studies, giving them the opportunity to apply their skills in a business environment.

Zane and Tanaka have joined our Development team and, like many apprentices across the UK, they are getting the hands-on ‘real life’ experience so many young apprentices crave in a professional environment.

We had a quick chat with Zane and Tanaka to find out how they’ve been getting on since joining team sales-i in December and what they have been learning as part of our apprenticeship.

Zane: “My experience so far has only been positive. sales-i is full of kind, hard-working individuals who motivate you to try your best and never forget that every day is a new learning experience for us.

“I believe my character has grown drastically but pales in comparison to the knowledge I have gained from the people around me who have an ocean of knowledge and are always available to explain things in a simple way.”

Tanaka: “I’d say that my experience has been thrilling. There’s never been a dull moment. I am thoroughly enjoying the lessons and the mind-set that is encouraged in a working environment. It’s taught me a valuable lesson in speaking up when you can and can’t do things rather than leaving it to the last second and suffering the consequences.”

Our CEO, Paul Black has been heavily involved with our apprentices from the get go: “Investing in apprenticeships is a great opportunity for us to give back to the community that we are lucky enough to call home. Here at sales-i, we are committed to developing our skilled workforce and giving apprentices the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice in a professional environment is a chance for us to share our passion for developing the workforce of tomorrow.”
