BE HONEST

Transparency is key when it comes to making sales and building relationships. Lying is never likely to end well.

 

FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION

Failing can be a valuable learning tool. Failing once will ensure that you don’t make the same mistake twice.

 

‘NO’ DOES SOMETIMES MEAN NO

Hounding a prospect until you get a ‘yes’ is not smart selling. It’s probably never come and that time could be better spent on more interested prospects.

 

ALWAYS LISTEN

It’s necessary for a salesperson to talk a lot but you shouldn’t underestimate the power of listening. You won’t know what to say if you don’t know what your prospect wants.

 

KNOW YOUR PRODUCT

Your prospect expects to be able to draw all the information they need about your product from you and you need to be able to provide it.

 

SELL A NEED, NOT A WANT

Don’t force a triangle through a circular hole. Only sell what your prospect needs, not what you want to sell.

 

WE’RE ALL HUMAN

Don’t forget the importance of a normal conversation. This makes every sale natural and personable, resulting in a stronger relationship.
