The Cloud has fast become big talk in the business world, so it’s no surprise that expos, trade shows and conferences are popping up all over the world. The Cloud World Forum is one of the biggest international Cloud events on the calendar and took place this week at London’s stunning Olympia exhibition centre.

So off we went in the sunshine down to the big smoke earlier this week for a couple of hours at the show, to have a natter with some other Cloud-based companies like ourselves and to attend the Cloud World Series Awards.

The show marked the glittering stage for product launches, exciting news and blossoming companies, showcasing the very best in all things Cloud. As expected, the ‘big guns’ were out in full force, with some cramming everything from Formula One cars to table football onto their stands, and even the promise of a free massage after a tough day walking the aisles.

How did we do at the Cloud World Series Awards?

After a few hours of wandering around the show and lapping up all the latest news and gossip from the Cloud world, we trotted across to the Salesforce theatre with everything crossed as the Cloud World Series winners were announced.

Pleased to have been named as one of three shortlisted companies from thousands of entries for Best Big Data Analytics Solution, we were over the moon when sales-i was announced as the overall winner against some stiff competition.

Big Data feeds everything we do here at sales-i and we are always working to further develop and enhance our business analytics for our growing customer base.

So we’ve given ourselves a big pat on the back, said our congratulations to the other shortlisted companies and added our trophy to the pile!

I'm another marketing bod here at sales-i (that is marketing exec come social secretary, branded wardrobe, stationary cupboard, fixer of the printer and chief maker of a terrible cup of tea). I get to work with the two delights that are Chris and Steve who have taken it upon themselves to educate me on all things football and Star Wars. I’m a Villa or Birmingham City fan depending on which of them you ask. I really rather enjoy reading and writing (I'm not that great at the maths thing, as Chris will tell you). What I lack in Star Wars and football knowledge, I make up for with a keen eye for a good wine and a great impression of a Wookie.
